Karen Terry
Daffodil is Karen’s dream, vision, and passion.
Karen’s mother Bonnie spent the last 7 years of her life in assisted living. Over that period the deficiencies were glaring, ranging from frequent medication errors to general lack of individual care. Karen and Greg spent innumerable hours with the management of these facilities addressing issues and suggesting improvements. These meetings were the ignition of Karen’s passion. Bonnie passed comfortably in May 2023 at the age of eighty-nine.
This event was the nudge that Karen needed to begin the research and planning for what has become Daffodil Luxury Assisted Living
The combination of these experiences and her love of the elderly, coupled with a passion for hospitality, event planning, and her 40 years of business background has Karen positioned to see this dream come to fruition.
Karen has been the Controller for a successful business furniture / interior design company here in Dallas for over 20 years. When Karen began her tenure, the company consisted of only one Dallas location. Under her leadership they have expanded to Houston and Austin, not only tapping into new markets, but increasing revenues over ten times.
Karen is overjoyed to now funnel her love, passion, and experience into Daffodil.
Director of Resident Experience
Greg Terry
Greg has been a registered nurse in the state of Texas since 2005. He has dedicated his nursing career to improving the care of traumatically injured patients across the continuum of care. Trauma impacts patients throughout the lifespan, from newborns to the eldest among us. As a trauma nurse clinician, Greg has provided and improved care at several level one trauma centers in Dallas. Geriatric patients make up an increasing percentage of the injured patient population, prompting Greg to earn his NICHE certification (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders). Greg has many additional certifications including Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, as well as Basic and Advanced Life Support. Greg holds faculty status in multiple national certification courses including Stop the Bleed.
Greg has a passion for disaster/mass casualty care. He serves on the state of Texas Emergency Medical Task Force and is also a member of the FEMA Trauma Critical Care Team South, based in Miami, Florida. Greg serves on numerous hospital education and emergency preparedness committees. He has been recognized many times throughout his career for his pursuit of clinical excellence, as well as his compassionate bedside manner.
